YLOKC is a branch of Sharon, Massachusetts Youth Lead Online. Youth LEAD OKC experiences are developed, planned, and implemented by teens for teens. Youth LEAD teens come from a wide range of ethnic, cultural, economic, and faith backgrounds. Youth LEADers explore their own identities as well as their similarities and differences and act together to build the next generation of community and global leaders.

Animal sounds: Goal: Relationship Buildings: Introduction/enhancement of a cultural aspect: Chinese New Year
- Participants were provided a blind fold and a card with the name of an animal of the Chinese Calendar.
-Participants made the noise the animal makes and found a partner that way

a. Introduce Yourselves: Name, school, age, Why are you here.
b. Amira and Mallory took the cards and redistributed. to the new partner after proper introductions, they share how long they had been in Youth LEAD and what was Youth LEAD.
d. Cards were redistributed once more and the last question to be asked to the third partner was " Something I want you to know about me."
Amira then reflected her process of finding and facilitating the icebreaker with the goal of making sure people were not in their own safe groups all the time. That the meeting gave an opportunity to know new people and just as important that a cultural aspect of the composition of YLOKC was celebrated and enhanced. We have two members of Chinese ancestry and the timely connection to the Celebration of Chinese New Year was perfect.

-Rebuilding Day was so cold and student felt like they shouldn't be there because it was freezing, but then they saw how much of a difference it was making and they had such a good time and grew personally

After hearing reports from investigation of Autism resources and ideas, Youth Leaders had to vote between
a. March 6 Move and Autism Walk on May 7th
b. Concentrating on Autism only for the next two meetings
Option A won and the Youth Leaders divided into two groups to approach project planning
- March 6: 12:00-4:45 pm (if YLOKC has a lunch experience at the Synagogue. Movie screening: Respect Diversity Foundation Proposal, A Bottle in the Gaza Sea Johnny Project Manager

-All food has to be Kosher and dishes have to be blessed

d. Interfaith Alliance: Cair: Project Peace
The Peace Project was in Oklahoma City at Mayflower Congregational UCC on Sunday January 31st from 2:30pm-4:30pm! The Peace Project is a viral photo project through the Islamic Society of Tulsa's Outreach Committee. This campaign entails having people from all walks of life, stand and pose with a sign that states their name along with their occupation, or a characteristic with the hashtag #IStandForPeace.
You can see pictures from their previous events in Tulsa on their Facebook page - they've photographed hundreds of people from the Tulsa area who stand for peace and Sunday is your chance to do the same!
